Demonstrate Log

When we open the log window in Audacity, it captures all the activities performed in the application. Basically, it keeps records of all the operation performed during the process of this app by the user. The uses of log files are:

  • If users can’t remember the operations they did, then they can simply go through the logs to know how to do a certain activity.
  • It can also help in the security issue. If an unauthorized person does any work on the user’s private workspace, then it can automatically record in the log file. And, it can be further use as evidence.
  • Logfile actually acts as an activity memory for the user, If they imported a file from a certain location, the log file records the location. And in future, if the users want to know that file location, they can go through the log files.

Create support data

It will create a report that generally helps in finding and resolving defects and problems which is useful for the user to know the actual problems in Audacity and the Mediator plug-ins.

A zip file is different from the normal file. You can store large items in a ZIP file in a compressed way. Therefore, you can transfer it efficiently later on. The folder where the separated files are present indicates the duration of the report.

Check dependencies

Uncompressed WAV and AIFF files that one has introduced into a project with the Read uncompressed audio files from the original option in Import / Export Likings do not get copied into the project.

Instead, Audacity keeps a mention to these files, and the project is reliant on them. Dependencies Dialog lists these dependencies and permits you to optionally remove them. We can now fully read the entire imported audio file in the project.

There will be some projects made with old forms of Audacity that depend on external audio files. To solve this problem, you can use On-Demand Loading for these projects. Click here to learn more.
